How to place the SIM card?

See the picture and video to open the SIM card holder cover and insert the SIM card.

Slide the metal part slightly to the left and gently lift the flap upwards.
Insert the SIM card with the copper side facing downwards, with the slanted corner as shown in the picture.
Lower the flap again and slide the metal part slightly to the right.

LED behaviour (outside)
  • LED flashes green, 1 second on/1 second off
The device is not yet programmed. Reinsert the batteries to activate the device in the Mobeye Portal. For “stand-alone” devices, program at least one phone number (TEL1).
  • LED flashes green briefly every 3 seconds
The device is on and runs on batteries.
  • LED is continuously green
The device is on and operates on external power.
  • LED flashes very fast
The devices communicates with the Mobeye Portal.
  • LED flashes red/green
The communication module is searching for a network connection. Wait until the connection is established. If this takes longer than 3 minutes, follow the steps under “2x red” or “3x red”.
  • LED flashes 3x green
The devices has has received a correct SMS command.
  • LED flashes 5x red
The devices has received an incorrect SMS command.
  • LED flashes red twice every 3 seconds
There is no GSM connection. Check the operation of the SIM card in a mobile phone.
  • Mobeye SIM? Ask Mobeye.
  • Own SIM? Replace the SIM card with a card from another provider; place the module in a different location.
  • LED flashes red 3 times every 3 seconds
There is a SIM card error or there is no call credit.
  • Mobeye SIM? Ask Mobeye.
  • Own SIM? Check the functionality of the SIM card in a mobile phone; remove the PIN code; check call credit; replace the SIM card. Perform a complete reset.
  • LED flashes red 4 times every 3 seconds (on startup), with a brief green in between.
Low battery voltage, replace the batteries.
  • LED is off
The device is turned off, or the batteries are dead and there is no external power supply.
Switching on and off automatically

The Mobeye MiniPir and Outdoor Detector CMVXI-R can automatically switch on and off via a schedule. This happens when the set time is “passed”. The system can still be switched on or off manually.
Example: the system switches off at 8:00 AM, according to the schedule. You switch it off yourself at 7:30 AM; at 8:00 AM, it remains off.
Example: the system switches on at 6:00 PM, according to the schedule. You can manually do this earlier. Thanks to the schedule, you can be sure that the system is active in the evening, even if you forget to do this manually.
Please note: you cannot manually prevent it from switching on at 6:00 PM at 5:30 PM; this is only possible by changing the schedule.
Two schedules can be set, which you assign to the days of the week. Monday counts as day “1”.
Example: off on weekdays, on at night and during the weekend:
Switch-on schedule1: 1800, switch-off schedule1: 0700, DAYS1:12345
Explanation: the system switches on at 18:00 on Friday and off at 7:00 on Monday. Schedule 2 is not used.

Remote switching on and off

With a battery-powered Mobeye device, the communication module is switched off in standby mode. While the system remains vigilant to detect and report a burglary, it is not accessible remotely. If the system has external power (possible for the Mobeye MiniPir and Outdoor Detector), the communication module is always active, and you can switch it on and off via an SMS command. Additional options are available via the Mobeye Internet Portal. The notifications can be adjusted there.

What is the best position for the alarm system?

Understanding passive infrared radiation is important for the installation of the alarm. Passive infrared does not see through windows. It detects a “moving heat source.” Therefore, be careful with drafts, smoldering fireplaces, and rattling mailboxes; these can be disruptive. Avoid direct sunlight on the lens, even through a window. Small animals (spiders, flies) are not a problem, as long as they are not on the lens. A dog, however, will be detected by the Mobeye MiniPir. Therefore, turn the lens away from the place where they come (a dog usually stays low), preferably in another room.
The Mobeye Outdoor Detector is immune to disturbances such as leaves, snow, and headlights. Birds, cats, and (small) dogs are also not detected, because the device has two detectors. Only when both detect something is it validated and an alarm follows. The Mobeye Outdoor Detector must be mounted at a height of 1.5 meters for the dual detection to function properly.

What to do in case of a false alarm?

A false alarm can occur due to user error. A false alarm is caused by an interfering source. To prevent an alarm notification from being taken lightly, a false alarm must always be understood and the cause eliminated. See “the best position..” for tips. If you are unsure about the device itself, place it for a while in a location where it cannot see anything (in a cupboard or in the box), while the system is switched on.

No reset is necessary after an alarm

After intrusion detection and notification, the Mobeye burglar alarm will be inactive for 5 minutes and will not detect any new movements. After this, it automatically becomes armed again. Therefore, it does not need to be manually reset. Much safer. This inactive period can be changed in the Mobeye MiniPIR and Outdoor Detector.

Battery replacement

If a device operates entirely on battery power, without external power, the batteries should last at least a year. This applies even with a daily (test) notification. If mobile network coverage is weak locally, this may be shorter. Just like any mobile phone, the internal communication module will increase power to find a signal. This affects battery usage.
If a device is externally powered and the batteries are only used sporadically as a backup during power outages, they will last much longer, longer than 3 years.
A notification follows when the battery voltage is low. For devices connected to the Mobeye Internet Portal, this is in the form of a “service notification”. If this is missed, the absence of a test notification (“keep alive”) is a second indicator. A device operating standalone (without the portal) sends the low battery notification to the first phone number (TEL1).

Connecting multiple sensors to an input

Multiple sensors can be connected to one NO/NC alarm input. Place a normally closed input contact in series, a normally open contact in parallel. In this way, an activated sensor will trigger an input alarm. Since there is one text per input, it does not provide specific information about the activated sensor.
