Mobeye Monitoring of medical equipment
Life-saving medical devices require dual monitoring. In addition to built-in safety features and audible fault indicators, additional monitoring is recommended. The Mobeye PowerGuard (CM4100) provides this additional monitoring.
Alarm forwarding
If a medical device cannot trigger a local alarm, or if the local alarm is insufficient, connect the Mobeye PowerGuard. It will ‘read’ the alarm and relay it via a mobile phone to pre-set contacts or to an emergency response centre.
Examples include the activation of an epilepsy alarm, the transmission of panic alerts, a bed-weighting system, the opening of an AED cabinet, monitoring of ventilators, etc. Contact persons are alerted via a call, text message and/or email.
Notification in case of malfunction
For medical devices with a (potential-free) fault output, the Mobeye PowerGuard acts as an alarm indicator in the event of a fault. The two potential-free inputs can be configured as NO or NC contacts. With settings such as alarm delay and customisable alarm messages, the Mobeye PowerGuard ensures reliable monitoring of the equipment’s operation.
Power failure alarm
The power supply is continuously monitored. An alarm is triggered as soon as there is a power cut. Monitoring is carried out by plugging the supplied mains adapter into the same socket as the medical device, or directly into a 12VDC output. Alerts are sent via telephone calls, text messages, emails or a notification to an emergency control centre.
Back-up system for a local emergency call system
The PowerGuard features an internal communication module for the mobile network. This means that the alarm can be transmitted independently of the local infrastructure. Furthermore, the batteries will take over in the event of a power cut. As a result, it also acts as a backup system for local call systems. This provides dual monitoring of vital functions.
